Responsive Mode Grants

West Looe Town Trust provides grant funding to individuals and community groups within the Trust's geographical area of benefit (the area administered by Looe Town Council). All applications for grant funding MUST fall within the Trust's charitable framework. 

Education Grants

Each year, West Looe Town Trust makes a significant proportion of its income available to provide financial support to those young people from Looe who are studying further education courses.   Last year we have introduced a new Student Grant Application Form available for download on this website.   Closing date for applications is 1st July each year.   If you were too late this year to apply please keep an eye on our website for the deadline for applications for next year for students starting their studies in September.

Queen Elizabeth II Grant

In 2022, the Board introduced a new grant in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.  The Grant is available every year for 10 years from 2022 with a yearly pledge of £1000.  Each application will be subject to review, to a worthy project, within our area of grant, in compliance with the Trust's Constitution and forms are available both in the office or downloadable from this website:

2022 - the money was awarded to May Fair Celebrations

2023 - it was awarded to 1st Looe Sea Scouts to improve their outside area and activities

2024 - Looe Bowling Club to buy smaller bowls for Looe School Children

2025 - Looe Netball to buy new indoor equipment and Bond Dance Company towards new sound equipment.

We have also introduced a Grant Application Form for other community groups or individuals to use for requests of support outside of the Education Grants and a copy of this form is also available for download on this website.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Looe Development Trust WLTT are pleased to support the activities and xmas lights provided by the Trust around Looe at Xmas time.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Looe Age Concern WLTT are delighted to support the Group on their trips around Devon and Cornwall and weekly bingo sessions.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Darby & Joan WLTT were delighted to be able to support this group who run activities and trips for the older generation.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Looe Lions Carnival Week WLTT were pleased to be able to assist with the insurance costs for events this year.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Looe Primary School WLTT were pleased to help with the costs of a new playground for the younger children at Looe Primary School. Photos to follow.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Looe in Bloom WLTT are pleased to support Looe in Bloom with transport and storage costs.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to 150th Anniversary of West Looe Town Trust Forest School on the Downs In celebration of our 150th anniversary of the West Looe Town Trust we are preparing to open a Forest School on the Downs for the enjoyment of the Children especially Looe Sea Scouts and West Looe Play Group. The sign has been sorted and Tristan Wearing is starting to prepare the area and seating. What this space for further updates.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Bond Dance Company Small donation made to the Bond Dance Company under the Queen Elizabeth II Fund.

Jun 2025 - Grant awarded to Looe Luggers WLTT were pleased to help with the costs of the Portaloos for this year's event.

May 2025 - Grant awarded to May Fayre 2025 WLTT in conjunction with Looe in Bloom, Looe Fire Station, Gary & Zoe Seymour and Route2Events, Sheila Brock & Co were pleased to assist with this event.

Sep 2024 - Grant awarded to Looe Tennis Club The Broad was delighted to be able to help towards the Youth Training at the Club.

Sep 2024 - Grant awarded to Looe Breathers Sept 2024 The Trust was happy to again support this exercise group in collaboration with Looe Lions

Jul 2024 - Grant awarded to Sheilas School of Dancing The Trust were delighted to purchase a PA Portable Active Speaker system for the Group to use when doing events around the Town. They provide such delight when they perform around the Town.

Apr 2024 - Grant awarded to Looe in Bloom Donation made towards the upkeep and running costs of the vehicles used by the team providing and maintaining the lovely flower displays throughout the Town.

Mar 2024 - Grant awarded to Looe Lions Looe Lions arrrange Looe Carnival Week providing activities including the Furry Dance, sand castle competition, three legged race and grand finale of the Carnival Procession. The expenses for insurance and other administration costs have rocked and the Trust have been able to help.

Mar 2024 - Grant awarded to Looe Development Trust Xmas Lights donation made towards the great display provided through the Town and on the Harbour

Feb 2024 - Grant awarded to Lions Club of Looe Donatation was made to assist with the Looe Carnival Week expenses. Looe Lions do a fanastic job of getting all the people of Looe together to join in the fun in the 3 legged race, furry dance and carnival procession.

Nov 2023 - Grant awarded to Royal British Legion Donation and Poppy

Oct 2023 - Grant awarded to Looe Development Trust Donation towards Xmas activities in the Town

Sep 2023 - Grant awarded to Looe Sea Scouts Donation towards outside area

Aug 2023 - Grant awarded to Looe Age Concern Donation towards the costs of trips for the Group

Jul 2023 - Grant awarded to West Looe Stage Music Local Event being run by Route 2 Events (Mr Mark Wilson) and The Jolly Sailor Inn (Gary & Zoe Seymour). Free entry to everyone.

Jun 2023 - Grant awarded to Looe Football Club West Looe Town Trust are pleased to be able to support the Football Team at their club house and pay towards the new tables and chairs

May 2023 - Grant awarded to Keltique Singers The Trust were happy to donate towards the costs of an event in Looe to promote the Town with their French Guests

Jan 2023 - Grant awarded to Looe in Bloom The Trust continues to support the ladies in Pink with storage at our Pound Orchard Store

Sep 2022 - Grant awarded to West Looe May Fair This year the Trust have been happy to support the May Fair Committee with a sponsorship for the event to celebrate the Queens Jubilee
